I'm making Christms gifts too. Potholders, pincushions, pillowcases to name a few.

Every year my quilt group has a great Christmas break up lunch. We are asked to make or in some cases buy some thing for $10. The last couple of years I put together a bathroom set of bath towel, hand towel and face washer. I try to do some thing on the towel like flowers, nice word like Hope, Love etc. The hand towel and face washer are done in contrasting colors. Those who have embroidery machines can do some thing like that for their female friends and family. I am still thinking about the male thing and will let you know what I come up with.

I loved the things you've made!! How clever you are!! I have a question about the coasters. How do they hold up if they get wet from a drippy glass? Thanks for sharing.

I slip a piece of clear soft plastic inside each one and it can easily come out for washing

Another idea- homemade dog biscuits ! Use your scraps to gift wrap with a cute tie.

CarrieAnne, I make pillow cases in a fabric to suit the person I am giving it to. Example: a son-in-law loves golf..I bought golf print fabric and found a blue plaid for the cuff that matched the blue in the main fabric. I am going to put pillows in the cases this year for Christmas.
