I have a son who has requested a nativity scene.

Paper Panache usually has one that is paper pieced. I looked it up and web site said it was unavailable at this time. Maybe you could keep a watch out to see if it comes back in stock or maybe get with them and see what their plans are for bringing it back.

I love the book Adoration Quilts by: Rachel Brown. I have done several of the projects in the book. It has good instructions that are easy to follow. A lot of small pieces but really worth the effort. I did it all in fusible applique.

I'll show him all these choices. What he has asked for is for me get an unpainted wooden or other construction nativity set and paint, decorate it. One with the figures about 10 inches tall and painted accurately according to historical research for clothing, etc. I think a wall hanging would be easier but of course it won't be interchangeable for Christmas decorating. Will let you know what he decides. I'm letting him decide so that I don't put a lot a labor into something he doesn't want and won't use.

Thanks for pointing this out -- it looks like a nice alternative to applique. They do have a simpler version available now ...

Tanya, I think this set is really nice:

    I found this here:

I have planned for several years to do this project but it seems to get bumped down the list.

    Good luck!!

I just did a quick Google of stained glass patterns. You can easily resize them and do a fusible applique.
    Great resource! Thank you!
