Christmas Tree Skirt
#1
I purchased this 60" tree skirt panel last year after Christmas, and was intending to cut it out and put it together, and add some embellishments like ribbons, beads, and small jingle bells to it. But then I realized if I don't cut it out, I can put it on my longarm machine and quilt it first to a backing, and then cut it out and add binding, and then embellish it! Something to think about if you need a tree skirt in a hurry! If you don't have a longarm, take it to your nearest longarm quilter before you cut anything.

By "putting it together," I mean putting the layers together- top, back and batting. And then cutting a slit and adding a binding around the outer edge and the center circle. I might even add a row of prairie points or a ruffle to the outer edge!
The idea is to have it quilted now, while it is still a square instead of cutting it first to make a circle.

Great idea!!!! I think I have one in my stash. I am thinking that it is so small I will do it on my Pfaff. Shouldn't be a problem as it isn't much to move around. It will give me a chance to use my slider mat I made.
