    Default Church Widow pattern

    Hi every one
I saw this quilt and really want to make it .
Called a church window from what i see.
Now my questions are is there a pattern for it and if so if it paper piecing?
I was thinking to just cut my fabric larger all the way around and then trim the blocks later.
You think that would work ?
The black will just be cut 1 inch then sewn with a 1/4 seam so it will be 1/2 showing.
Don,t forget i,m a new quilter and I ok to go at this quilt . Just like it so much
    thanks
    Tom

Hi Tom...this is really just a crazy quilt with the thin sashing you mentioned between each piece.
If you look carefully, you will see that this one is actually a little more "organized"....in that there are about 4 different patterns used to make all the blocks....but you could make each one different, then then add the wider black sashing.
I like this one a lot too. Please don't forget to show us a picture when you make yours.

There is a similar pattern called Magic Tiles, which has 9 pieces per block and uses the black sashing in between which you are correct is cut 1".
If you google Magic Tiles and go the images, you'll see all the color possibilities. I'm sure you can find the pattern just about any quilt shop.

It is really just a simple Crazy quilt pattern. I would think it is just the clover bias tape on top of the seams:

Use to come in velvet but it wasn't on JAF website.

This is a crazy patch pattern. You sew scraps of varied coloured material onto a plain background square in a random pattern. They look good if you use a variety of materials and textures as well as decirating with embroideries, braids and ribnons. Then assemle your quilt. Good luck with your project.

This is a type of stack and whack design. Stack 7 different fabric squares (at least 1" larger than desired finished squares) Cut in about half on the diagonal, then sub cut these pieces. This quilter used three for one side and four for the other. Arrange the colors to form 7 different blocks.
Assemble using 1"or 3/4" black strips. square up and you have quick crazy blocks. Good luck.

There is a wonderful pattern called Mozaic(mosaic) by a woman in central florida and it is such a beautiful one. I made one using Kaffe Fasset fabric with white 1 inch sashings. Have seen it with gold sashings and christmas fabrics, simply beautiful. Have fun, think out of the box with the sashing choices. Bias is not needed, the 1 inch strips work great.
