In looking all over the internet at Dear Jane quilts and other Civil War inspired patterns, I found this one today. I *want* to do a Dear Jane quilt, but I'm still concerned that it's too much for me right now.

This one looks like it would be easier... and "gateway" quilt to a Dear Jane, so to speak! LOL

What do you think? Anyone done this one? I'd still do it in Civil War repros and muslin.... just no scary triangles! LOL

I don't have that book I hope to get it one day but I do have the Civil War Diary. I would go for it if I were you. Did you check out Dear Hannah?????? That you might like too but it could be out of print so you would have to see if e-bay has it. I don't have that one either.

Abraham's Lady in Gettysburg has repro's for $5 per yd check out their on line store. What better place to get repro's then where the biggest battle of the CW took place.

Oooh, I'm going to have to get that. I've been wanting to do a CW quilt. My 3rd gr-grandfather was in the CW, and in fact was at Appamattox. I have copies of some letters that he and his wife exchanged while he was gone. This would be perfect!

I love this idea!!! A great way to get your feet wet in anticipation of working on a DJ in the future :D:D:D
Won't the DJ rulers be helpful not only in this quilt but in other's too?
