    Default Class 15 bobbins interchangeable?

I am teaching two little girls to sew, and they have a Brother LS-1520 sewing machine, and only 1 bobbin. Our next session is in 2 days... Can I go to Walmart or Joann's and buy their Singer class 15 bobbin to use, or do I need to use the Brother SA 156 bobbin? Thanks.

My brother 400nq insists on only brother bobbins but I have read other people on this site can use any. Try any plastic bobbin you have and see.

Go to Brothers dealer and buy some. It is important that you use the correct bobbin number for your machine. Even though they may look the same different numbers are somehow different and will not sit in the bobbin holder correctly and may effect the bobbin tension. I have a Singer machine that takes 15S and not a 15. Even thought they look almost the same the 15 is loose in the case so the bobbin thread is loose.

That machine uses plastic SA 156 bobbins. Walmart here sells them.

Are the Walmart SABOBBINS the ones you are referring to? I just purchased the Brother Se 600. It came with 2 bobbins but I need more.. There are no Brother dealers near me, Joann is sold out even online Walmart has a pack of Brother SABOBBIN . I looked on the Brother page and I see a package that looks identical but I can't enlarge enough to read if it says SABOBBIN.. I know I need the Sa156 and. I don't want to use the wrong one. Does anyone here know a source for the right bobbins.. I've been searching the internet for days. .I'm new here and to quilting. Thank you for any help. ( I have a ton of class 15 singer.but they look different).

I would have suggested Amazon but with all the delays right now it may or may not get to you. These times are making thing a bit more difficult to locate things when you need them right away. I would try one of what you have there and see if it fits well. After things slow down some with things and the stores are better stocked you should be able to get exactly what you are looking for.

only use singer bobbins in singer machines.
    those are class 15/J.
beware of generic bobbins that claim to work in both A and J.

the metal bobbins with holes will do "ok" in place of a drop-in 15/A but they are not ideal.
those are what you need for a side-load bobbin in a metal case.

any brand class 15/A bobbin will work in a brother machine that uses class 15.
most newer brothers do, although i think some of the older models might use class L.
    (don't quote me on that.)

i wouldn't buy bobbins from walmart.
(no ... i am not anti-walmart. i just think their bobbin classifcations are a bit "iffy.")

if you are near a hobby lobby, the sewology class 15 bobbins they sell should do nicely.

there are a bazillion places online to buy 15/A bobbins.
    prices will vary wildly.

your biggest challenge will be finding some you can receive in just 2 days.

If you are referring to https://www.brother-usa.com/products/sa156 - I used Windows Magnifier and indeed it does say sabobbin

I got a package at Walmart that is the same as pictured in the above link. I haven't tried them yet.
