I am thinking about purchasing this ruler but with the $ conversion rate and postage to Australia I am a little reticent as it will be a significant cost. However, I am happy to purchase if it is as useful as I think it may be. Has anyone got one of these or know of them? I would be interested in opinions on it.

​There is a good YouTube video by Sue O’Very using the ruler under the title Does This Notion Really Work. She seems to find it easy to work with but it would depend on if you thought there were enough patterns you wanted to do with curves.

Thanks Tartan...just had a look at the video. It looks like a good tool but I guess I was a bit naive...didn't realise it involved using slots to cut the fabric. I could never get the hang of the Stripology Ruler...could never get a blade, no matter what size, to run smoothly through the slots and ended up selling it so I guess this ruler would not be for me.

I couldn't locate the precise video on curves that you are referring to; however, I purchased a tool called Curve Master at a quilt show. Vendor sat using it continuously on charm squares. He made perfect curves. However, I have never once made a perfect curve with it. Paid $40 for it.

I personally do not like slotted rulers. I keep hitting the plastic when inserting my rotary cutter. I've barely used the slotted one by June Tailor for strip cutting. I tend to forget i have it anyway.
I love my acrylic templates for drunkard path blocks, etc.

I found if I use the smaller 28 mm rotary cutter for the slots it's much easier and I don't nick the ruler edge. I use the 18 mm and the newer 14 mm cutter. I use them more then I thought I would.

Yes, I tried smaller blades fruitloop but even then I struggled getting the blade to run up the slots. It was an expensive lesson for me to learn even though I was able to sell the ruler after 12 months of frustration and ruined fabric. Most people love them...me...nope, so I'm glad tartan put me onto the video. Should've thought to google it myself in the first place LOL!

I use a 60mm or 45mm cutter on my June Tailor slotted ruler. For quarter circles, I have a similar slotted ruler. It works well for me with a 28mm ruler.

I like the Creative Grids Circle Savvy ruler. It was a "gripper" coating on the underside. It is $40.

ok I just have to say the slotted rulers are my absolute favorite! The trick - at least for me - was to make sure I fold and iron the fabric to the correct size for the ruler (measure from the bottom of the teardrop opening of the slots - to the same on the other end). I have successfully done strips of all widths in no time and also do squares all the time by removing the ruler and turning my mat 90 degrees and making the juxtaposing slot cuts. I truly could not live without this ruler because I can't really afford pre-cuts.
