I started with the Angler but like the Clearly Perfect better. It clings, no tape needed. I leave it on my machine for whatever I'm sewing. A quick rinse under warm water and it sticks like new.

I have an angler and do use it a lot. However, I looked at the Eleanor Burns one and it look interesting. I will probably get one to try it out.

I have something similar to that. Bought it a long time ago. Think I used it once or so, put it in a drawer and it has been there forever.

The tape does not have to be perfectly aligned because the marker line will be. Works pretty well for me.
Thankyou for sharing this! I'm definitely gonna try this!

I have the Easy Angler 2 that I used with my side load bobbin machine. Went to a drop in bobbin machine and agree, it's a pain to have to re-align it after changing bobbins. I might have to check out the EB one.

eta: if I had a front loading or side loading bobbin I would stick with The Angler.
I agree.I have tried both and like the Angler 2 much better. I think you can still buy this.

Look up Bonnie Hunter and her site. She explains how she marks her machines. She likes vintage machines and has quite a collection. It's how she marks each machine so she can sew on any of them and still have a 1/4" seam. Hope this helps.

I agree, Bonnie Hunter sews on a multitude of different machines and posted about setting up for a seam without having to remove anything when opening the slide plate to change bobbins. quiltville.blogspot.com/2012/08/sewing-saturday.html
Wasn't this just discussed on here earlier in the week?

I sew things other than quilts so I use different seam allowances. Even on a quilt I use a different one for the binding and backing than I do the rest of the quilt. So I would rather not have to remove and reset a guide over and over.
