I love reading everyones process, you are all doing great jobs. I am pretty anal about needing things organized so for me its a fight not to re-organize something. Right now I am working on a shelf unit to go in my closet for fat quaters, I think it was this board I got the idea from. I am sorry I forget who it was that posted about using a wall mounted cd holder for their fat quaters-I took that idea and ran with it.But so far haven't put it into place.
Boxer big hugs-I was a daddys girl and we lost dad very unexpectedly and it was just a couple days before my b-day and then his b-day was a couples after. Hang in there it does get easier and soon you will look for those fond memories to comfort you.
For those of you cleaning do we get pics?

One view.....before and after. My DH walked in and said, 'DANGER, DANGER!' while flapping his arms around!{remember Lost in Space?} I have been working on other views, and will post when they are finished. I am putting post cards, favorite greeting cards, or fabic on an index card inside my plastic bins. I can still easily see what is in them, and they do not look like cluttered boxes.

after.... the shelf under the blue bins is for my 19mo old grandaughter to play with.It is filled with fabric/fleece scraps, ribbon, trim, and her own thread spools to play with. Her big sisters already quilt with Nana, she already wants to sit on my lap when I am sewing.

This room is really nice. I know it took a lot of money to buy all the containers and stuff but sure is handy. Very nice.

This thread is helping me finally get in and try to get my room back in shape so I could find things. I'm not there yet. Sunday afternoon when I was in the thick of things, with fabrics and supplies pulled out and piled around so I could organize, DH had to do an intervention. Came in with a glass of wine and suggested maybe it might help. I told him one glass just wasn't going to do it. lol. I will post once I finally get it done. Thanks to all who've helped inspired me.

After looking at what many of you use to store your fabric, I still think plastic covered boxes work best for me. I originally had them sorted by value in each box but that's gone by the wayside. Now I'm lucky if I have the color in the box that's meant to be in there. My son made me a rotary ruler rack, which holds more than rulers, currently paper instructions, paper piecing patterns and my quilt block design mirror. My husband bought wood yesterday to help me make a large ironing surface to fit over my ironing board. Yeah! I've wanted that for a long time. I do need a larger bookcase, as my many books have overflowed the shelf and are sitting on the floor. I've also been getting rid of certain magazines that don't interest me anymore and why am I keeping them? The process goes on and on... Oh Well, I've made progress in my sewing space. Good Luck to the rest of you.
