I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I can get my Clover needle threader to work once out of about every 10 times. I have read the instructions several times as well as watching the youtube instructions so I think I am doing it right. Maybe I have a faulty threader. ( or maybe I'm faulty. lol) Anyway, I am ready to throw mine in the garbage.

I also like the little green clover threaders for floss and thicker thread. I think the stand kind only works for one type of hole. Can't remember if it's round or oval.

I use Roxanne #10 and #11 betweens for quilting. The only threaders I can get to work with the eyes on those needles are the Roxanne threaders. Reasonable so I'm not complaining. I used the desktop Clover threader with the Roxannes as well as other general purpose sewing needles (to complete bindings) with absolutely no luck. If yours works, enjoy! Mine, not so much.

I love mine also...I have a hard time threading needles...and am so glad to have the needle threader to make the job easier! The colors are so you can have choices.

I love mine and purchased one for my 87 year old Mom. I hate when I can't find it and have to thread a needle.

I am so surprised that there are not more options. Someone will be wealthy if they invent a really good needle threader.

I have had mine for 6 or 7 years. I love it. I thread just about any size needle from tiny eye for applique to larger ones for everyday sewing. I always take it on trips, it is the only way I can thread a needle on the go. If something happens to this one, I will defintly buy another.

Can you use any needles with these or do you have to use a special type of needle.

I've used the Clover needle threaders for close to 15 years and love them. I recommended them to my cousin and she had a hard time with hers. She took it back and the LQS opened another and had difficulty with it, too. They sent them back to the company.... figured that batch was faulty.

I have found a couple of tips..... If your needle is bent, it won't work. If the eye is large.... probably won't work. I think it was James needles that I had some problems with, too..... maybe Roxanne's as well. And my oldest threader is starting to wear out. I just got another one this past summer and it's working great.

Getting the thread into the groove and having the needle straight up and down are things that I always pay attention to. It will miss from time to time with me as well but without it, I'd not be able to hand sew much. I use betweens #11 and the eye is so tiny..... a wire loop needle threader won't go into the eye.
