This club is large and sympathy comes from all. Some people worry about Acupuncture but after sewing your finger and recovering mentally and physically, acupuncture is very gentle. I testify from experience!!

I'm very new in quilting but I have already made this club ...thanks to my Babylock 10 thread.....first time (08-18-11) was the early evening of my birthday!!! Was only going to move the corner of material....and wham went through my ring finger and the eye broke off....no matter how hard I tried with assistance we couldn't find that almost 1/2" needle...so off to the ER...doctor worked hard on it; would take a break and come back....was there from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m...........2nd time was the following Wednesday....this time almost finished with stitching and went to move a piece of thread....same thing only left hand and index finger....embarrased but no option but to return to ER....unfortunately, after 2 doctors the orthopedic surgeon had to remove this one...BE CAREFUL ladies.....quit when you're tired....It's expensive and NOT FUN!!!!!!!!! to be a part of this club!! Take it from a beginner who learned the hard way to keep those fingers back or turn the machine OFF!!!

I joined the rotary accident club before I started quilting. I was investigating my rotary cutter and used my finger and thumb to help the blade guard down. So I will never help it that way ever again.

I was initiated at a very young age when my oma forbid me to use her treadle to make doll clothes. OOH, I can still feel the pain! Hugs and a big smooch on the booboo

I joined it when I got my new machine. It wasn't painful at all and just a little blood, could hardly see it.
    Sorry this happened to you.

Ouch. I joined the needle club back in '69 when my mom let me use her 1940's Singer for a school project. I sewed my whole finger to the project and didn't realize it until I pulled the project out from under the needle and couldn't get it off my hand. I had sewn down the side of my finger just inside the skin (no blood thankfully). Then in 2000, my DD introduced me to the rotary cutter; joined that accident club within 10 minutes of holding the thing. I shaved the side of my hand from thumb to fingernail in 3 seconds. DD said not to do that again. Took me 3 months before I picked the rotary cutter up again to use. Now it is my faithful companion. I just have to live and learn mostly the hard way.
    Hope you feel better.
