Sometimes I clean and put away as I go, sometimes I pull everything out and dump it and leave it and then clean it up later. It doesn't matter to me which way DH prefers me to do it. It's my way of quilting not his. It seems I am always organizing my sewing room clean or messy.

No, you are not alone. I do not have a sewing room so I use my dining room table and my dining room chairs when my quilting mess overflows. Once I start a project, I do not clean up my mess until I have finished working on that project or it gets so bad I can't find my sissors, seam ripper or other items that I need. I say it's a waste of quilting time to put things up when you know you will need them again tomorrow.

I have to clean up my quilting several times a day because of our tiny living arrangements. I used to have an area in our home office (when we had our real home) where my sewing machine was left set up all the time & I loved it! Now, I just dream of having an area dedicated to my crafts again. DH keeps telling me things will change... I sure hope so! We're having high winds tonight & our patio is now trashed. We had tied down our awning, but they were yanked right out of the ground anyway & then our pantry fell over bending one of the legs on one of our new chairs. DH couldn't get the pantry to stay up as something was under it & it being dark (and the fact he lost my flashlight...) we couldn't figure it out, so it's leaning still. LOTS of cleaning as soon as it's light out for us!!

I have a magnet that reads:

    "Creative minds are rarely tidy."

    That's my excuse!!!

It doesn't seem to matter how hard I try, straightened up one minute; back to a wreck the next. You could spend all day cleaning and straightening. It's more fun to quilt! Don't let it get to you, there are lots of us out there with you.

How nice! In my mind that is how I want to be BUT, in reality, that is not how it is. It is a part of me.
