I also liked the purple but then I saw the 2nd one and have to say I would go with it (for me). But they are both nice so whichever one suits you.

Ladies, thank you so very much for all your comments and advise, all is very much appreciated.
now that the quilt top is finished (not quilted yet), I think that both versions would be nice.
I went with the purple color and made it into 82 x 104" quilt, did not plan to make it so big but it will cover queen size bed very nicely.
Now I need to order some batting and decide how to quilt it (any suggestions here would also be appreciated)
