I made 9- 6"selvedge blocks today and started 28 more {sewed the first two rows of selvedge down}. I am going to make a quilt to take outside with me when I sit on my swing. May end up making it a little bigger. You start with your foundation square, lay a selvedge piece down then lay another selvedge strip over it covering the raw edge. You are sewing along the finished selvedge edge each time, so no raw edges show...continue until you fill the foundation shape, then trim.

Thanks for the tip, makes it easier to work with the skinnier pieces.

Thanks Heather I'm going to use your idea and recycle my salvages and scraps too.

Is this a dumb question: What about those holes in the selvage edges- what do you do about them???

I saw a pillow where the labels were appliqued on a base fabric. I have started saving those now. Can't remember where I saw the pillow.

I don't save them but one of the ladies from my quilting group does. She makes purses from the ones she saves.
