    Default Color for 2017

Just read that the color for 2017 is to be "Violet Verbana" Looks Like a soft grey/violet Background color maybe, think a lighter yellow/green might work as contrast color ....just love color and thought this was interesting.

Sounds pretty. Sherwin William's announced their color for 2017 a few days ago. Their description: "If brown and gray had baby."

    The violet sounds much prettier.

That's a nice violet/grey color. I rarely do anything in the purple color family but I might actually use that. I've never gotten the "color of the year" thing. I guess I'm up on pop culture (or don't care enough about it lol)

Pretty color, I don't think I'd paint anything in my house that color but I can see using it in a quilt.

As usual, it depends on "who you know" -- Sherwin Williams calls it "Poised Taupe"!
At least Pittsburgh Paints doesn't leave you confused that it will have some purple in it.

Pantone is the industry standard for setting the color of the year. I don't think 2017 hasn't been announced yet.

2017 will be announced in December. But it's set much, much earlier so that the powers to be can flood the market with fabric, furnishings, paint, you-name-it in the "new" colour.

I am happy with the "new" color of the year. It looks kind of like a line of denim blues I have stockpiled for a quilt. Yay! For once I got ahead of it. LOL ...

Pantone standardizes colors for certain industries, but their color of the year is only one of many opinions. Pantone gets some people into a room and decides what the color trends might be. Sometimes they're right sometimes they're wrong. I don't think last year's Pantone colors of the year really caught on, so they're definitely not always right..
