    Here's a quilt I did as a wedding gift.
The bride's favorite color is orange.
Yes, it was a challenge, but it came out beautiful.
I think it's maybe on the top 3 of my favs

I like orange with purple, cream and a mossy green.

Hate is such an ugly word, is it not?....so I'll say I strongly dislike orange. BUT, the quilt I am still waiting for from my long arm quilter has some orange in it. My focus fabric in that quilt is a paisley with black, rusts, greens, golds and oranges. It was great because I pulled all those colors out with my other fabrics....and orange was one of them. Turned out very nice.

Olive green goes well with orange and you wouldn't have to use a lot of the orange!

Orange is not my favorite color either. The ice cream block (orange and cream) sounds like a winner to me. But also orange looks nice with browns, rusts, yellows and of course black.

I'm a huge fan of orange. I once read every quilt should have some orange in it! Check out this gal's site: http://howaboutorange.blogspot.com/

Use your orange with abandon. Orange is directly across the color wheel from blue, which complements it nicely. Or try a warm approach with oranges, yellows and reds. Mix in a white and I bet your block will be bold and beautiful. Don't overthink it, just throw in some colors and sew.

My physical therapist just gave me a lot of fabric since she has changed hobbies. So, when I joined the Pioneer 09 BOM, I decided to somehow use 2 of her oranges. These are my 4 fabrics for the block:

...a pale orange with a sublte print
    ...a bold orange solid
...a cream background with a tiny print of dots of orange in teenie flowers
...a brown with rows of cream dots.

    I'm liking it!

Next week I hope to photo and post my first 2 months blocks when hubby can help. You probably would like it sooner, but my mom is coming so I will not be participating here much until next week.

I love orange. Not the really bright orange, but the muted fall orange. It's a fall color and I love fall colors. Browns and yellows go well with orange.

Thanks to everyone for all the great ideas! I'm still considering my options, but at least I have options now, LOL.
