    Hi Everyone,

I'm new to the quiltingboard and I'm fairly new to quilting, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE fabric! I spent close to a thousand dollars on fabric alone in 2009 and it looks so beautiful stacked in my sewing room! I can only imagine how the quilts in my head will look once I get the courage to cut my beautiful fabrics.

I'm attracted immediately to blues and yellows when I am in the fabric store. Just bought a "bali pop" of 2 1/2 inch strips called "green tea" and I can't wait to turn them into something beautiful. I love batiks and small floral prints. I don't have any browns or beiges in my current fabric supply, but there's always 2010 to add those colors to my stash! LOL!

I LOVE this quilting board and I have enjoyed reading posts for the past few weeks and learning from all of you!

I love purple and green. They are my favorite colors. I don't like blue....seems like everyone I know loves blue.

I love blue, purple, red, teal, bright colors. Orange is not normally on my radar however I did buy some. If anyone is familiar with Laurel Burch's mythical horses fabric line, it has wonderful colors in it. I made a quilt for my new grandson, then another for his "big boy" bed. I have never been a fan for pastel colors for baby quilts, it seems boring.

Isn't the horse fabric gorgeous. I bought 3 yards of it to
make wallhangings for my sister. She sells them at an
auction every november to raise money for her no kill
    kitty shelter.

I love all the colors and even though I don't do purples so much it looks great with your choices. I have to say I do like purples and greens together.

I use almost all colors. My personal favorite combos are teal and chocolate brown, and black and white with a bit of yellow or red. I don't care for orange except for fall leaves. I had orange in my house when it was popular years ago, and I guess I am burned out now. I also am not fond of solids and try to use fabric that reads as a solid.

Okay, I have a quilt to make for a wedding gift and the young lady said she likes "earth tones". As I have not worked with this pallet, rarely have used a brown or tan (not that I'm against them) what colors would you all recommend?

My daughter likes earth tones, and that includes the tans, deep reds, deep blues, definitely deep greens, you need to add a contrasting fabric to keep them from all running together, like some lighter shades of these colors, or ecru.
