Default Come Quilt with me Today - 8/19

I hope our fearless leader doesn't mind, but I can't wait any longer to get started. So I'm starting this thread for today's virtual quilting reports.

My goals today are all about finishing
    - finish 2 quilts (hand-stitch binding and labels)
    - catch up on block of the month (6 blocks for 1 set, 1 block for another)
    - binding 2 quilts
    - load a new one on the long arm

I was set to get my quilting off to an early start today but first, I had to clean my sewing room so that I could find the projects I wanted to work on. It is far from perfect, but today's project is sitting in the middle of my cutting table now, and I have room to work on it.

I also finished 2 quilts. That's a bit of a cheat, I guess, because I just had to finish tacking down the binding on one, and put labels on both. But I can now count them 100% complete and ready to donate. Onward - one BOM block complete, 5 to go.

Great! Just finished having my morning coffee and surfing the net for whatever and am ready to get started with my project. Plan on getting my blocks all assembled today and prepare for basting the sandwich. Hope I get to that stage. LOL. Cheers of encouragement for everyone today!!!!

I have some spouse-enforced errands to run but I have this afternoon set aside for sewing! Haven't decided what I'm going to work on today but I have a LOT of choices:

    - binding repair on a quilt I made for myself. My eyes aren't what they used to be, and sewing black on black means I completely missed a bunch of spots that I didn't catch until after I washed it. Oops! Thankfully the quilt was just for me!

Then TONS of work ahead of me for Christmas presents:
    - quilt for my father-in-law, needs backing, quilting, binding
    - quilt for my niece, needs borders, backing, quilting, binding
    - quilt for my cousin's son, needs borders, backing, quilting, binding
    - quilt for my cousin's other son, needs to be started
    - stack & whack for my sister, needs to be started
    - unknown quilt for my nephew....needs to be designed. (I have fabrics and a theme, just need to figure out how to put it all together in a way that an 11 year old boy might appreciate!)

Argh! I just pulled out all the finished blocks for my BOM, and I discovered that I have sewed half of my connecting blocks together in mirror image Now I have to decide - redesign the quilt, or do a *lot* of ripping. Help! please look below, and tell me which you prefer. The blue/red block in the upper row is reversed in the 2 pictures. Do you like the symmetrical alternating light/dark (pic 1), or the all dark (pic 2) around the middle block?
