Which comes 1st - Ovr Frame or Centr?

I'm not understanding the problem. If the back wasn't big enough to match the front panel, then of course the frame has to show. Center the framed back with the front panel, and start quilting from the center. That's really the only way to do it. You can change the thread color when you get to the frame, maybe. But I wouldn't really worry about it. It's the BACK after all!

Thank you everyone. I've started from the center and have outlined the back frame with a light running stitch so I know where to stop. Then I'll try to stitch only the top to the batting and when I bind it, will catch the back frame up. That way I'll have the clean outline and both sides will look good. Thank you for your help!
