Laura, I could have written your topic also. Just this morning my DH asked me what my plans were for this morning and I told him how I need to get my 'sewing stuff' which is all over the place, under control. I will be working right along with you. Mine might take me longer than by Monday though. You go girl!

Wow! I feel like guiltyfeelings. I do well with encouragement but not with pushing. Today, I am going to wash all those fabrics that I got at yard sales lately. They don't come into the house until they are washed.

Set yourself a time limit each day. When I want to clean the house, which I love doing, by the way, I set the timer for one hour and see if I can beat the clock. Try something like that. Start with a corner or one table and get it all done. The contrast in the room alone when that is finished and you get to see the progress will make you want to keep going.

You CAN do this. Just think of how your heart will soar when it is all done and you are one organized Quilt Queen :) :) And think of your joy when you can finally send us the pictures. We WILL be watching!!!!!!!!!!

I've been working on mine, turn on the tv to TLC. I watched "Hoarders, buried alive" while I worked on it last weekend, this weeke?d it was "extreme couponing". not as motuvational as the previous. Bonus was the laugh I got every time I told the syory. Also foynd some prizes. a quilt top i made 25 years ago, lo?g forgotten, and a box of 6" squares older than that.

Put on your favorite CD - no TV! Rock the mess away. You feel better when it's done. It feels so good to have everything organized and I love, love, love to work in a fresh clean spot. When the sewing room is uncluttered - my mind is uncluttered. (I wanted to clean mine today - but it's Daddy's day so it will be tomorrow). Mine needs it too. I will probably be cleaning to "Freebird" on Monday.

I'm a little late in responding... but hopefully you are making progress!! I've started what I'm calling "the great clean-out" here and it DOES feel good.... once it's all accomplished....

Hang in there!!! We'll be (patiently) waiting!!

Here is a tip you might find useful. We use it when we are getting a house ready for resale. This works even if you are starting in one corner. Look around the room, pick up everything that does not belong in the room, put it in a container. next when cleaning when you pick up some thing that belong some place else, put it where it belong or were you want it, that way you are not handling it 2x.If it's a basement we get trash first.

Just a quick update: cleaning is coming along great. Moved in a new piece of furniture, refolded ENTIRE stash and organized on shelves, cleaned off ironing table (hollow-core door 30" by 7'! ugh), and tomorrow I plan to vacuum...however, I will definitely need to use the shop-vac from the garage! Thanks, ladies. Pictures by tomorrow evening!
