Unfortunately, their website says that they base the shipping on the total amount of purchase before tax. I am not fond of places that do that either.

Planted Seeds Designs ships via USPS Priority Mail and the cost is based on the total value of your order, prior to tax where applicable.

Their shipping policies are clearly stated on the website and you agreed to those terms when you made the purchase.

What possible reason do you have to lodge a complaint or expect any refund?

But you're not complaining about how much you saved on sales tax right?

I see people complain about paying shipping all the time. If you don't want to pay it, buy local.

I am sure they will tell you it is part of the "handling charge".

ugh ! i'd call . some do nothing but....i'd still call. went to taco bell and they stopped senior drinks (they said wendy's did too) but they give 10% off to seniors orders now. Also, i asked about how the steak tasted ( was ordering salad) and none of the employees knew ! I said they don't just make 1 salad and let you all take a bite ? No, they have to pay. Well.....i looked around at an empty resturant , looked back at the cashier and she says i know ( then a few younger people came in ) . New manager ? No. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I would file a complaint, but first I would contact the company and ask them WHY you were charged so much. I know with some shipping as of late the charge depend on the area.

ok. let's all take a deep breath.

since the shipping policy is posted at the website, it will make more sense to call with an inquiry rather than a complaint.

they might or might not refund the difference between the shipping charge and the postage cost. remember, though, that they are not obligated to do that since their policies are posted where customers can find them.

part of our responsibility as consumers is to gather all available information before we commit our funds.

please contact the company to see what you can accomplish.
