    Default Completed Sentimental Quilt Top

    Hi, everyone!

I have a finished quilt top that my mom did before she passed away. I don't know what to do with it! It's a Cal King size. Right now it's folded in my closet. It's too big to hang up, I don't want to give it away, and the colors aren't something I would have picked.

I always feel close to her when I sew. Hmmm. Maybe make another quilt "top" for the back?

I think I just answered my own question. Haha. Thanks!

Amazing how we get ready to ask for ideas and get the idea right before we finish asking for others. Yep. Sounds lake a good idea to me.

The quilt may be heavy with two quilt tops sewn together. Just a thought. Also sometimes it can be difficult to quilt two tops together because of the bulk of seams on both sides.

A reversible quilt sounds like the perfect solution!

I think that's a wonderfully clever idea !!!! Don't forget to show us a photo when you've finished.

Sure you can put another top on the back. You could also find a pretty floral fabric for the back and use the flowers for your FMQ pattern and quilt it from the back.

Thanks for the enthusiasm! Hmmm... seams. Yes. I was thinking it would be heavy, but I didn't think about the seams. Maybe a pieced back instead of a full quilt. I think I'll use a side of a big white duvet I have. Maybe some applique instead? Will definitely post pics.

    Thanks again!

A reversible quilt....sure! I've done this before, not on so grand a scale, but still...
You'll love it and feel like your mom is hugging you each time you use it.
