    Default computer generated fabric prints

Does any one know if these prints hold up and wear the same as regular fabric?

I have a person in my quilt guild who does this type of printing and as I recall when she was talking with us she said that the fabric produced was washable, she didn't recommend that it be used in say a baby quilt that would be getting a lot of machine washing.....more suited to a wall hanging that might need to come off the wall every year for a cleaning.

I ordered a digital print from Hawthorne Threads, not realizing it was digital. I'm not sure if this is the same thing you are talking about. I could hardly get a pin through the fabric! There were instructions included, recommending using certain needles because it's so hard to pierce (I guess the thread count is super high?). The texture was completely different from fabric printed the usual way. Also, it was a black and white stripe, but the black wasn't deep and dark. I didn't care for it, so I hope this isn't the wave of the future!

They make this stuff all the time on Project Runway and sew the fabrics (all cotton??) on the Brother sewing machines the show provides.

I've bought a few and they're stunning with gorgeous colors and prints. I've used them in two quilts and haven't had any problem with piecing them, needle or thread issues. The weave is finer and the feel of the fabric is like top quality Egyptian cotton. The one piece I still found selvage on is P&B Textiles. But, I don't think that's the only company I've bought from. These prints are more expensive ($15-16/yard as I recall) so they'll be for special projects, in art quilts and wall hangings.
One set of prints with rich colors I used in a recent quilt are completely colorfast. The durability of the fabric is likely similar to Egyptian cotton sheets with high thread count.
