I received my order from their Cyber Monday sale yesterday. Their fabric seems a little on the thin side, but it has a good feel to it. Lovely colors, too. I'm happy. :)

I have not purchased their batik - but have bought long arm thread and kits and I was very pleased with the quality of both the thread and the fabric in the kits. The fabric is not LQS quality but far better than Wally World and JoAnns. The LA Thread was great. Can not wait to hear about the batiks.

Me too....I use it and like the way it sews and of course the price, but....I have to clean the lint out....a LOT! ( It looks like a small animal is hiding under the plate)

Marge for CT batiks they didn't bleed or run at all. I don't think you need the retayne. I prewashed all of them with a color catcher and that was that. I don't think the color catcher even grabbed much if at all!

I ordered some of the fat eights from Connecting Threads and found the thread count was low in several of them. Unusual for batik fabric as it is usually very tight because of the dying process. Checked in LQS and Joann's. They both are now carrying batiks with lower thread count and higher prices. If there is a less expensive way to make the fabric and the prices are still raised it seems odd.

I have the same problem with the lint. Also, when I sprayed water on the top to get rid of the water sol markings the red and brown thread bled all over the white....eeek

I just bout the spring summer and fall strips of batiks from Connecting threads. I haven't had a chance to work on them. They were on sale and I have a request for a desert quilt, so the colors are great. They feel good and are stiff. Hope I did the right thing.

I've ordered fabric from them and was pleased. For charm packs only charmpacksplus will do. For great bargains and beautiful fabric I still love favoritefabrics above all.

I put CT batiks next to Bali Batiks and I prefer the CT. So since I prefer them they will be the ones I will buy. Everyone has different prefers.

I haven't noticed any lint problem using the Essentials cotton thread but the machine I use it on has outside threading, that makes a difference in the lint build up. I bought several cones of the new poly machine quilting thread from CT and it's lint free and I use it for piecing. It's thinner then the cotton and perfect for bobbins.
