I downloaded a couple of patterns from their site the other day, and I noticed something that I thought was pretty cool. At the bottom of each page of the pattern is a disclaimer that the pattern is for my use - it gives my name and email address. It's basically part of a copyright statement, and I have to admit, it struck me as pretty clever. This is only on the paid patterns, keep in mind, and if I were to decide to circumvent copyright law by photocopying dozens of copies or posting it online, I would have to go to the trouble of removing or covering up the personal info or give my email address away to lord knows who. It's not foolproof, of course, but I thought a good way to help prevent casual disregard of copyrights.
By the way, I love being able to download a pattern. It's cheap, it doesn't take up space (except on my hard drive), and I don't have to go anywhere. There's nothing like sitting in a room full of WIP's and UFO's, unable to find a thing to work on, and being able to just go online, download a new pattern, and start shopping my stash so I can get started right away.
