Thank you! It's pretty isn't it? It's Cosmo Chic by Material Girls Studios for Benartex.

I think they are both great. We all have wonky points at one time or another. They add personality to the block.

This is seeewwwww true LOL . . .when I first started quilting, I bought a 1/4" quilting foot and stitched exactly 1/4", time and time again and couldn't get the diagonal seams right. Nearly drove me nuts :D Finally figured out my quilting book was "off the mark" I would pay big bucks for a 3/16" pressure foot for my machine :D[/quote]

I can move my needle one place over and it becomes a scant 1/4 ". Needless to say, go very slow while trying it, to be sure the needle doesn't hit the foot or the smaller hole plate. Mine have enough room to move a couple of places if necessary.

Beautiful blocks! Your second one looks right on the money to me. Good luck with the guild... hopefully they wont give you a bad time or anything. I hear really bad things about guilds... so I think you are brave! LOL!

I think I found a great one! They were really sweet to me last night. I'll update you next month. :)

Two things that have helped me with blocks like these is to cut and sew very precisely. Also, follow all directions to the letter. That is the way I get mine to come out rite. As far as the focus material is concerned, use it however YOU like it.

You are doing a great job for just getting started!
My avatar is the Contrary Wife block. I didn't use one focus fabric, but scrappy in blue, green and yellow (much of it classic Winnie the Pooh, the theme of the baby nursery). It's a fun little block that can give you a lot of totally different looks depending on fabric and layout.
