Many manufacturers have free patterns on their websites featuring different fabric lines... Or you could find a fabric similar to yours and check to see if there are patterns for it. :D:D:D

I do it the opposite way. I find a pattern I like then search my stash for fabrics to us. Usually I have to buy a little more fabric to finish out the project. Of course the is sooooo hard to do!

Now, that is a great suggestion. Think I'll give it a try.

How neat of idea is this...thanks for sharing as I "ponder" over pattern, then the material, a back & forth until I say to heck with it and go buy more material (not good).

I have a few fabrics I just love and can't imagine cutting into. I'll keep watching for the perfect pattern. You are not alone.

Welcome!!! I am so glad that you posted. I love the idea of cutting out shape templates and laying them on the fabric. I think that will help you a lot.

Welcome! And definitely no need to feel alone on this. Right now I have an assortment of fabrics with fairy and Tinkerbell prints that have different sizes of focal print. Am looking for a pattern that says "hey, I'm the one" to showcase these properly. The birthday isn't until fall so I have some time yet.
