Ditto! The cats would be a great medallion in the center of a quilt with multiple borders. You might even want to make lots of straight borders (no pattern) using the bright colors in the medallion. froggyintexas

I would pick up the blue for a frame on the border or binding

Love all the colors! You could fussy cut the cats and you wouldn't have to cut them into stars. Great idea! I made a fussy cut quilt with Nemo fabric and then one from Cars. Wish I could remember the name of the pattern. The "frame" didn't totally go around all 4 sides of the square. Put sashing around each square.

warm wishes. Incorporate the fabric you have on the side to make the 3 strip block.

I have a friend who is a design master and she uses fabric like you have in a "cotton crazy quilt" block. She cuts out the cat with five sides, then proceeds to fill in around the block with the other colors in strips or pieces until she has the size block she wants. Georgeous colors and design!!!

Wow I love the cats....I would definitly use black as your boarder...black would surly set it off for sure.....not sure about the orange and light blue...think maybe to stay with darker shades that would balance everything...just my opinion though...Iam sure whatever you do its going to look beautiful....Trish

Any creative thoughts on how to use them together, and which pattern to try? I'm trying to figure out whether to use the electric blue as a filler or if I should use black against the brights...I know I'll need some more of some color.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
    Don't cut the FQ!
Instead take the fabric to your printer and make a copy of the part of the fabric that has your favorite cat in the middle. Take the printed paper copy and cut out your favorite cat. Now blow that up 250% or 300%.
Magically you have a pattern to make a big cat to applique onto the front of the FQ.Just the shape is enough. Practice making a face with a permanent marker - or embroider it.
Then use the strips to make borders until you get the size of quilt you want.
