Since your balis are already in strips, it seems to be calling out to be log cabin around the cat fabric as a focal square. I did it with bird fabric and it worked great! You can use anything between a 3" and 5" focal square and build your cabin around it. It also works for courthouse steps.

I would go a little scrappy and make each block different by using different strips in the log cabin.

Could you use the cat fabric for the center of the 10 minute block?

I also like this idea. Such cute fabric...I'd have a hard time cutting it to "pieces". haha

You can make the center extra large. Instead of piece 1,2 and 3 make it just one piece then add the rest of the strips.
Just saw your post Wildyard! Great minds......

Love the cats. They cry for fussy cut or full as a panel.
Like the example from Wildyard and her log cabin block.

This fabric is too cute to cut, so just quilt it as is, maybe quilt around the cats to make them "POP".
