Good evening everyone, I'm in a little bit of a pickle.

My son's daycare teacher recently found out that I know how to quilt, and me being a little full of myself, told her I could teach her almost anything she'd want to know to get started.

She threw a wrench into my ego when she asked if I had seen anything in Coraline (the movie) fabric or bedding. She wants to make a twin sized quilt for her daughter who loves the movie Coraline, about a little girl who gets lonely and visits a make believe world where people have buttons for eyes. I haven't seen the movie myself so might not be describing it the best.

Any Ideas, I think if we could find a nice easy pattern I could help her do some applique to get the characters on, but I'm stuck as to a good background layout/ pattern, that would work well for this type of application!

Oh, my... what a challenge! If you haven't seen the movie, it's creepy (but I love it). I don't know about layout or pattern, except big, bold blocks would look good. I really think you need to rent the movie. You'll have a good idea of where you want to go after that. And do post photos!!

I love Coraline, I guess I would try to do some simple applique from designs off of the internet, Or you could print photos .

We just watched Coraline this past weekend, but because I sew or read, I don't pay much attention to details. I would rent the movie & see what she is talking about & go from there.

I rented the movie, and we all loved watching it, the problem is now that i've seen it I'll have to watch it again! Instead of paying attention to the things I was hoping to notice, I got so caught up in the movie I totally don't remember the small details, like the color of the bed spread in the "other" room. Oh well at least it's a good movie!

thanks for all the help! I'll post pics when we decide what we're going to do.
