Cordless sounds fantastic. Does it get hot enough??

I bought a Sunbeam at Walmart for $10 and it works great, and no shut off! I have to replace one of my cheap irons about once every ten years or so. I keep seeing reports about expensive irons and spitting problems. Never had one so just assume others are telling the truth. Just remember to ALWAYS use distilled water in an iron to avoid deposit build up in the iron. I also use distilled water in my spray bottle that lives on the ironing board.

Haven't used a Sunbeam but have had 2 Rowentas that have leaked and quit heating. I'd go for the Sunbeam.

I have had great success with the Sunbeam iron. I love it. Had to replace the first one, but bought the second. Price and service excellent. I'm not a fan of Rowenta. I've had probably close to a dozen over the last 15 years, and they all eventually leaked. Have friends with the same experience.

I just bought a Panasonic cordless and it seems to get plenty hot for me. I also have a Rowenta, but the cordless is easier to handle in the space I have and being left handed. I do know that I prefer the German made Rowentas and never really had a leak problem, since I prefer a spritz bottle rather than putting water in the iron. I have had very good luck with the Rowenta traveling iron (even though it's made in China). I already used one travel iron up.

I had a Rowenta, and was never really happy with it. Big price, mediocre (*) value, I have a Sunbeam now, and it is a die hard beautiful piece of work. It just keeps going like the Everready bunny

I had a Euro Pro with the water tank that died after about 10 years and it required that I use distilled water in it....well when it broke I bought the Rowenta with the tank and that has been sent back to be repaired already....and they told me to use tap water that will eliminate the spitting......so now it is back and is good not leaking from the tank.....$200....for an iron it better last another 10 years........

The Rowenta works great and last a long time. I would advise you not to fill to the top with water since it has a tendency to drip.
