    FWIW, we didn't presoak the Fairfield, and washed our quilts immediately after binding. The shrinkage was perfect as far as I'm concerned. Just the right amount of that "quilt texture"!

    I use to preshrink cotton batting by spraying water on it and putting it in the dryer.. Much easier then soaking the stuff.

    Thank you one by one. Last time I soaked a full-size piece then laid it on the floor for 48 hours until it was dry. I live in a 2-room apartment so this was no joke. definitely going to experiment now.
