I used some Pellon cotton with scrim from Walmart by the yard. It was less expensive, but a little linty. It handled well. I will buy it again. Warm and Natural is kind of stiff. I wanted something softer with better drape and this one seems to work. It has a 10" quilting requirement. Since it's available by the yard in the store, you could try it and see how it works for you.

I buy Warm and Natural with coupons at JoAnns. I just got a 60% off coupon this morning so I'm going to go buy some if it's not on sale. I've tried other brands, but always go back to Warm and Natural.

The only cotton that I won’t use is Pellon - Very linty. Worth it to pay more for Warm and Natural.

Thanks everyone. Joann's is an hour away so it's just not practical for me to wait for a 60% coupon and then go-plus batting is on sale right now so the coupon can't be used with it. I will look at some of the other options. The pellon says to soak before using so that's out for me anyway. I think I might give the quilter's dream a try. Just need to decide if I want to try the request or select weight.

Heartbeat quilting will sell to the public, my rolls have come through the USPS, mailman delivers right to my door. You can call them and get an estimate for the shipping, they're very customer service oriented.

for most of my quilts I use Hobbs 80/20 that I purchase from a lady who does long arm quilting - but that has to be quilted closely

I found this on Amazon and I really like this batting. I have bought 2 rolls. I only use this on special projects because it is a little more expensive

It’s 100% Cotton with a very, very thin Scrim layer that’s been needlepunched into cotton for added stability. The Scrim is only on one side and it doesn’t matter which side you face up or down - it’s personal preference.

It’s soft and drapes well and you can stitch 8-10” apart with this batting.

The 80/20 batting does not include a Scrim layer - the 80% Cotton fiber and 20% Poly fiber are blended together in these products.

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

    Happy Quilting,
    Steph from Hobbs
I have looked at it (online) since I posted this. Do any online dealers sell it by the yard? I find that if I buy cuts, I end up with a lot of waste. I know I can piece it together but I'd rather not have to any more than necessary.
