Cotton poplin
I have been exploring other fabric shops recently and many of them sell a huge range of great prints on cotton poplin (and at a very good price). It seems slightly thinner to the touch than the cotton I have been using.
Has anyone used it before? Is it just thin cotton or something else and is it suitable for quilting?

I found this on this web site about poplin. (I was curious.) https://support.spoonflower.com/hc/e...For-My-Project
*** as stated on the website*** (quilting) Cotton Poplin is a fine weave cotton similar to standard men’s shirting material, and prints with somewhat muted, subtle colors.
There is a whole write up on the best use for different fabrics also if your interested. (on the same page)

Interesting as the poplin I have seen tends to be the big bold prints (often the more novelty type prints) as well as lots of solids.
I have done a bit of googling and comments seem to be mixed - I just wondered what people's experiences were. Poplin seems to be £5-£8 per m compared to the other cotton at £7-£15

I have given away most of mine, some may have been from my DGM. It has a high sheen and not soft to the touch. I think we did use it for curtains and some dresses and skirts and aprons. It is pretty to look at and durable, as I remember.
