Rag quilts are super easy to make. They are nice in flannels.

Have you played the I Spy game with your children? The quilt game is to use easily recognizable conversation prints in a quilt top. You can use any shape but most are just 4 or 5 inch squares. You pick fabrics that have things like footballs, dolls, trucks, trains, puppies, kitties etc. It is fun to sit with them and say, "I Spy with my little eye ....a train" and they look for it and then it's their turn. There are many examples of I Spy quilts on QB, just go to the search feature and type in I Spy.
There are many Bug Jar quilts on QB too. It is a simple pattern that you make the main jar fabric either a bug print or in the case of Candy Jar a candy print. The net has many free patterns if you search Google. I think the best example of a Bug Jar quilt is under the post "Marco's Brain" or for a simple one my post under Jar Quilt.

If you bought 2 layer cakes you could make 2 10minute block quilts.

conniemaried, Here is a picture of a jar quilt: http://www.gallsewingvac.com/Images/Bug_Jar_Quilt.jpg for a candy quilt there is picture of candies in the 'jar'.

Here is a simple I spy quilt: http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...=0&FORM=IDFRIR

You can make the I spy out of any block you want, this one is a simple easy pattern. Each square is made with different items and you play the I spy game with them. Cool.

If you want more samples just google I spy or jar quilts and you will get a thousand ideas.... good luck!
