A darling quilt. I really think they are enjoying the quilt now and will let the baby get lots of use from it later.

Do you consider the quilt as being "used" if it's hanging on the wall? I guess they are enjoying it, and it's better than being stuffed in a cedar chest somewhere.
My niece is doing the same thing with the three quilts I made for her babies. She told me she was waiting until they were old enough not to spill drinks on them. I told her that they were made to be used and washed all the time. I have to wait to see if she will use them now not hang then up on the walls.

By hanging on the wall, where baby can look and study it, he is learning eye coordination, focus and a myriad of other positive stimuli. When baby is older and begins to develop speech, Baby will probably ask Mommy to bring the quilt down off the wall and put it on the bed. thus begins a whole new life for your quilt. I think its great where it is for now.
