What quilt designs are the most appropriate for use of Batiks? I just chose one for the feature square of a D9P baby-girl quilt and I adore them. Should batiks be in the same quilt as regular screen-print fabrics? Should batiks be used in traditional or colonial-style quilt blocks or just in modern designs?

I use them in all different designs from traditional , bargello, etc.
They really do go with everything. One of the most fabulous quilts I ever saw was a Baltimore Album done in batiks .. it was breath taking.

I love them and think they should be used everywhere, all the time! ;-)

The sky is the limit when it comes to using batiks. You can take a tradtional pattern and give it a modern look or twist simply by using batiks

use them in any design you like along with any other fabrics you enjoy working with - there aren't any rules

I like the looks of them in bargello and stained glass projects. But, there are a ton of different ways to use them too. ;)

Thanks all - I am going to try really hard not to buy any fabric until I finish my current work-in-progress, but I can't wait to try an all-batik! :)
