I am just finishing my first crazy quilt. All done on the machine. connecting my squares with black sashing. This quilt will be a mothers day gift for my dear sweet daughter in law. Want to have a "different and unique" border was thinking of like a black ruffel with heavy white lace on top.... Would really appreciate any and all thoughts

You've done a great job and I like your border idea, as well. Post a pic when it's done :-)

Too funny ... before I got finished reading it, I was thinking of a lace edge on it. Then I saw you were thinking of black ruffle and white lace!

    Meant to be? :)

The fabric looks very shiny, is it more than cotton? If so, what about something black and silk like? Or being that you've used a lot of reds/pinks, perhaps the dark cranberry/burgundy that is in the quilt?

What is your backing .. that might help determine the edging.

Beautiful quilt. It sounds like your border idea will be smashing.

I love the squares...very unique to you....and I also like the idea of a different kind of edge finish, but not sure about the black...maybe one of the more dominant colors in the squares?

Glad to see you are using sashing! I made one similar and didn't use any sashing. Not it's just one blob of scrap fabrics. At least it's warm!
