Jeaninmaine, are any of your sites good for taking a wedding dress and making a crazy quilt out of it. A friend who loaned her wedding dress to my daughter wants me to make a quilt out of it. I can't decide which pattern.

I found these old pieces at a yard sale a few years ago and some day I will frame them since there are some silks starting to break down but they are still beautiful. Moosegirl

We had a fundraiser for our fire department the 21st of last month and a lady donated a crazy quilt. I think it is a lap quilt but I bought through the auction. She had donated a big bow tie quilt to sell tickets on and another lady donated a disappearing 9 Patch that she made in 1969. Both quilts brought 879.00 for the fire department fund. It was a gospel singing, lots of food and auction of donated items!

Oh, my, those are absolutely gorgeous! I aspire to them. I want to do a crazy quilt, just have to jump in there, eh?

I read a book called, "Shot Silk" once. It was a mystery, but I remember them saying that silk used to be dyed with some lead in the dye (probably other fabrics too, used lead dyes). This is what made the silk deteriorate at a later date. I agree your antique blocks are beautiful, and we will never know who made them.
