    Pat, the thing I like about crazy quilting is nothing is wrong. You can use any kind of fabric you chose. I mix velvet, satin, cotton, upholstery fabric, etc. The skys the limit. And it is amazing how everyone brings you fabric that they had collected to do a cq, but just never got around to it. We quilters are pretty generous folks.
