These are great - do the embroidery patterns come from a book?

What beautiful work.. I have a 90 year old MIL and she does handwork most all day.. It is beautiful and will be a treasure. You have wonderful suggestions, I'm sure finding the 'just right fabric' will tell you what you need to do.

I was thinking along the same lines...we have to make it "groom friendly". Pale sage green sashing with yellow cornerstones. Then a border of white green and yellow.....

what about a narrow white ribbon, would that work for a quilt? I think that would be nice...

The outer border could have the same with pink and yellow flowers added too.
That is a terrific suggestion! You definitely want to bring out the green and pink. Amma you are so smart.

Wow, how beautiful. Pink and green would be my choice, but I would go to your LQS and look around at fabric, keep your mind open to something you haven't considered, you might find "the perfect idea and fabric" I agree that you don't want to take away from the embroidery with anything to showy. Possibly, if you stay with pink and green sashing, a subtle floral, not a busy one, for the cornerstones might be good without being too much.Do you know what style your daughter would like? Something more elegant or thirties style, or solids, I would try to find that out, of course without letting her know the real reason.

Blocks are beautiful. I think something soft and light pastel would go with the blocks
