Does anyone know of a site or tutorial on how to make crocheted fabric rugs? I thought it might help get rid of some of the fabric left over.

Just some unsolicited info --- I made a couple of these using the technique in the sugarbeecrafts video and used up a bunch of ugly stuff that would have never made it into a project. It will amaze you how much fabric you will blow through. I gave absolutley no thought to color and everything worked out. Have fun with this.

I remember helping my Mom make these when I was a kid. Except we tore up old clothing. And I think she sewed the ends together. I remember they were HEAVY, lasted forever, and were a PIA to wash. We had a wringer washer, they were too heavy to go through the wringer, so we hung them to dry, dripping wet.

If you know how to crochet, just substitute fabric for yarn.

My Grandma made crocheted rugs out of fabric and even bread bags. She taught me how to make them and I didn't even know I was crocheting, just knew that is how you make rugs. When I was in college she would sew the fabric strips together and roll into balls. When I came home she would give me a bag of rag balls. I ended up with a rug so big that I had to sit on the floor to crochet around it.
I agree that they are heavy. When I dumped a fryer of grease on mine, it went to the dump. Too big and heavy to even try to clean. Have fun.
