I like CT threads for piecing, but have trouble using it with my Voyager 17 for quilting.

I only really notice the lint after free motioning, and the OP asked about the thread for piecing anyhow. I think it's great for both really, but yes, it does lint. Is there a thread that doesn't? Some might more than others, but I don't think it's really a big deal to have to clean out the lint a few times during a project. It's better than having the thread break several times during free-motioning, an issue I have WAY too often with Coats and Clark.

I have used them and I think that they are just fine. And they are a good price. The one that I use most though is Isocord. That is my favorite.

I kind of figured that must be it - I have noticed that when I use the CT thread - there is a singificant increase in the lint which I clean out of my machine after a project - markedly increased !!

I also like CT cotton thread, been using it for years, all my machines including my Avante have no problems with it. A little more linty, yes, but it makes us remember we need to clean our machines no matter what thread we use. I also like Superior's thread, have lots of tht too. Cotton & Polyesters.

I love CT thread, but agree it is linty. However, I use a few drops of Sewer's Aid to the spool and it seems to cut down on the lint as well as making it more slippery. Also, Sewer's Aid keeps CT and other threads from breaking during FM quilting. I love CT colors and always add more to my stash when they are on sale. I haven't tried their polyesters yet. Has anyone used those?
