I'm sorry, I can't see your pic...
This has really helped me to sew straight lines -
I cut it so I don't have to remove anything to change bobbins. Had it on for several months now and sure love it, as it also takes care of that little bump from the throat plate that gave me occasional grief.
I can untape the part on the machine and leave the rest taped to the extension table, remove the table and do any maintenance on the machine. Then put the bed back and retape the part on the machine and I'm good to go!
I have it cut very close to the feed dogs, and have not had any feeding problems since putting it on. It's really helped with HST and flying geese too.

I am also a member of the "curved out" bunch. My stiletto and a few very long pins sit close to my sewing machine. BUT the best answer is a couple of tweezers that came from a woodworking catalog what seems forever ago. They are about 6" long. One has a pointed end and the other's is rounded and grips like the dickens.
No more close calls with the machine needle, no more wadded up beginnings and ends and no more curves. I keep wondering what the were originally created for and then immediatelly send a prayer of thanks that I have them for what I want them for.

Alvie, I'm not understanding how you use them. I use a stiletto but seem to still have problems. Can you explain how
you use the tweezers.
