Default Custom Quilt (Video) What Are The Best Competitions To Enter?

My mom made a beautiful custom quilt for my daughter. It took her 4 years to make it, patch by patch. As it often is with quilts, the tapestry is personal and filled with visual stories of our family, memories, people and traditions. I wanted to enter this into a competition - I'm not a quilter myself, so I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a few competitions that might be relevant for this unique hand sewn quilt.

    Thank you in advance.

Houston or Paducah! I don't know what competitions there are in Canada. I'm sure there are others of which I'm unaware.

Check first in your home town to see it they have a quilt group. They could advise you. CQA, Canadian Quilter's Association is the biggest in Canada. They have a listing on their website showing every registered up coming quilt show by Province. This probably doesn't include local community or fall fairs. Putting it in a small show first may give you a realistic evaluation of it's quality. But know that Judges opinions and standards are all over the map.

Also be aware that some of the bigger shows only allow the person who made the quilt to enter it.

oh I'd love to see a picture. one more point - read the rules before entering as some shows require the quilt to have been finished in the last 2 years or something similar
