I have a very probable dumb question, but I am very new to this world I love so much! Ok, I know what a 9 patch is and have seen pics of the D-9, but I really just don't get it...lol. I guess it is supposed to disappear, but where is it?? lol I looked at these quilts (LOVE the blue), but I still just don't even see a 9 patch anywhere :?:

It starts out as a 9 patch, but then the 9 patch is cut and reassembled.

Take a look at this, it will explain it. It confused me at 1st too, so you're not alone.

You're welcome. The only dumb question is one not asked!

You know when you were in school and teachers told you ask your question because even though you think it's dumb someone else in the class has the same question and will be glad you asked? Well, I'm usually the one asking the question but frankly, this time, I'm the one very glad that Just-Lee asked!

    thanks!

To my knowledge...you have to sew each square one at a time and not do it in the strips like I did...so now what was originally supposed to be a d9p is now just going to be a checkerboard ;( but I did cut out more squares and so I will be able to do it still.
