Congratulations! There is a learning curve, but I think it is so true no matter what brand is involved. I have a Bailey 17" Pro, too, and I like it very much. No computer parts to break down and you can do your own cleaning and oiling without having to pay someone else do it for you.

Thanks everyone! I know I will have good days and not so good days, but I can't wait to start learning. Getting the room ready now - a project that has escalated into more than I bargained for, but I am sure it will be worth it once I am finished and happily quilting!

I got a long arm 6 weeks ago and several friends told me to load a plain (and cheap) quilt on it and then quilt the whole thing in one color thread, and then re-load and quilt again in another thread color, and so on. Basically just practice every design we can think of. So far I'm still working in the same color thread. One friend told me that her "picnic" quilt weighs a ton due to the 40lbs of thread in it! But once she's worked it over she was so much more confident. So that's what I'm working on, too!
