Day 5 Red Bargello non-update
#11
Thank you for sharing the beautiful red quilt, and the story of the beautiful Amber! As a former homeschool mom, whose daughter fought me for the first few years...want to send you a big hug. I am happy that the outcome of this time in your life is that your son is learning, and is happy, and that you are feeling lots better. Amber will treasure the quilt!!!

I am sorry for your ordeal as well as your son's. As a teacher I am appalled that the school was not willing to do what was needed to be done. Thank goodness for advocates like Amber. Thank you for sharing your story and for sharing your quilt. Hope you continue to feel great and your son continues to thrive.

I am so glad you got help for your son. And stay safe out there! If you are comfortable with stippling, try just a gentle curve following the swoop of the pattern. It will enhance your wonderful piecing!

I am a teacher and am very sad that the school fought you in getting help for your son. At our preschool we usually are trying to get the parents help in getting their children evaluated so they can get the help they need. I am glad that it has worked out for you. I will be starting a bargello this summer and yours has been a great inspiration. Will love to see it finished.

Gosh! I was in tears by the time I finished reading your story! It's amazing that our children are given up on by the very institution that claims they have the best in mind for our kids. "Way to go" in finding out the answers for your son and finding someone to help you. I think it would depress me too, and you were very wise to take care of yourself so that you can be there for your family now.
The quilt is beautiful, and may Amber pass on the importance of the quilt.
