Yippee!! We never lost our fabric department but they had less fabric. Recently I have noticed that they are getting more fabric and of better quality. It's nice to have a place to buy fabric at a reasonable price.

I think WalMart is beginning to listen to its customer base....especially in the fabric department. I'm guessing there isn't as much of a margin on fabric as there used to be and that is why it made the cut. Let the managers and the corp HQ know. Squeaky wheel....

Our fabric department is back..I am so happy as the store is only 1/2 mile from me and the closest other fabic store is at least 20 miles from me.

Walmart lost money and business when they closed out their craft and fabric departments. I don't do or did do Walmart for any other thing. But if the fabric comes back, maybe me too. But in Brunswick, a new Joann's fabric is coming in the winter of 2012.

Ours closed with a remodel also. We didn't even get the precuts. I hope they rethink this one. Glad you are getting yours back.

The Elk Grove, Ca. just got there fabric back a few weeks ago. Although it isn't 1/2 the size it was.

Ours is about 1/8 th of what it used to be. That's ok. I survived after they downsized our fabric and I will still be ok with or without

Actually, closer than Dayton, I live on the lake, just north of Watts Bar Dam, so we are very close, by water!

I was surprised on my last trip to our Wal Mart in Anderson, California to find a fabric section! They had a very nice selection of quilting cottons. I don't know if I would invest a lot of money for a large project, but the fabric looked pretty nice and I did buy some for a few table runners I'm doing. So far the fabric seems to be of fairly good quality. The best part, it was almost 1/2 the price of the quilting store fabric. Lets hope it holds up!

Our Wal-mart in Sherman, TX is getting fabrics back again, too. They had cleaned out an area, and last week, had a number of bolt fabrics, so I had to have a couple of pieces for my stash, to celebrate. Not as large as it once was, but some of the Cranston prints, and various quilt battings by the yard.
