Default Dear Jane Plain Tris/Scallops yardage needed

I've seen some fabulous Baby Janes posted here that have all of the plain triangles and scallops in a single fabric, instead of scrappy, like the mother quilt. It has inspired me to do the same with my DJ, but I can't find the yardage requirement anywhere.

I'm ready to start assembling the top row of triangles, but want to make sure I have enough of the fabric to go all the way around.

    Dear Janiacs, Please help!

i'd put in my EQ, but triangles yardage is always overestimated due to not taking advantage of turning the template one way then the next. I'd take the template, lay out a strip of fabric, and lay out the number of triangles needed to see how much yardage. hth

starch your fabric stiff before you cut

Thank you for the advice. I was just being lazy and didn't want to perform a search and rescue mission for that silly template.

FYI, I can get 14 tris out of the WOF, and four rows of 14 will will give me make the 56 plain tris needed. At just a hair over 8-1/2", that's about a yard. I di not even want to try the math for the scallops, lol, but 1/2 yard should be more than enough. I set aside 2 yards to allow for my boo-boos

That is an excellent suggestion. I will definitely do that!

Thank you both for the advice! Seeing real progress on my DJ is so exciting!
